A Physician Assistant is an advanced level medical degree. It is a fast-paced immersive training program that condenses approximately 85% of a 4-year Medical School and Residency program for MD's into an accelerated 2-2.5 year program. PA's receive many of the same classes, training and skills as their MD cousins albeit at a slightly lower level of in-depth technical knowledge and experience. Much is learned after school in practice and continuing education. The result of this training is a Medical Provider who is fully capable of treating you and your family for a majority of illnesses and disorders. If your case becomes complex, PA's retain a supervising physician that they may consult with about you at any time to ensure you receive high-quality care. Your health and safety are our priority however, if your case becomes extraordinarily complex above the skills of our PA providers we will refer you to one of our MD/DO colleagues with a higher level of training to take over your care.
