What are knee injections?

A Knee injection is a medical procedure that involves the administration of medication into the internal joint space of the knee. This is typically done to treat knee pain caused by arthritis or other disorders of the knee

what types of injections do you offer?

At Starlight Health we offer two primary types of knee injections. The first is a steroid medication called Kenalog (Triamcinolone). This is a long-acting steroid that can reduce inflammation in the knee joint and ultimately reduce knee pain. This can usually provide about 3-4 months of pain relief

The second type of medication is called Orthovisc. This medication is a derivative of hyaluronic acid and is meant to supplement the natural version found in joint spaces like the knee. This is done by 3 separate injections spaced a week apart and can provide pain relief for up to 6 months

The type of injection that is best for you will depend on your history and preferences.
